The
STC Libraries, Preschool (PS) and Integrated School (IS) Library, located at
the Science and Technology Complex Campus are satellite libraries of De La
Salle University (DLSU) Library. They offer academic library resources and
services to support the institution’s instructional, curricular, research, and
extension programs. These libraries strive to provide adequate and stimulating
learning environment for the DLSU Integrated School community through
organized, relevant and fast delivery of information services and excellent
facilities. The Preschool Library is located at the ground floor of Learning
Center 1. The Integrated School Library is located at second floor, west wing
of Learning Center 2 Integrated School Complex. These areas accommodate the collection
and provide reading areas, workstations, viewing rooms, discussion rooms,
faculty lounge and the Digital library area for online research.
Mission/Vision
The
PS and IS Libraries endeavor to provide the school community with a wide range
of organized materials on appropriate levels of difficulty that will encourage
growth in knowledge, establish a life-long love of reading, and foster
information literacy.
Objectives
- To establish a vibrant library environment encouraging and helping students, by sparking excitement in learning.
- To maintain a well-balanced collection appropriate to the needs of the school.
- To encourage students to develop skills and strategies that will allow them to use libraries and do research independently.
- To foster and promote a lifelong love of reading.
- To provide opportunity for recreation through the use of literature, films, videos, and other art forms.
- To promote and maintain a library that serves as an effective ingredient in the total educational process.
- To provide programs of service to
meet such needs and to cooperate with other organizations, agencies, and
institutions which can provide programs or service to meet community needs.
