Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) is the largest
children’s literacy nonprofit in the United States. We prepare and motivate children to read by
delivering free books and literacy resources to those children and families who
need them most. We inspire children to be lifelong readers through the power of
choice. RIF provides new, free books for children to choose from and make their
own. The seeds of inspiration in these books have motivated children to follow
their dreams and achieve their potential. Yes, it seems incredible for a book
to launch a life, but it happens every day as hungry, inquisitive young minds
reach out and grab hold of the new people, places, and ideas that books bring
them.
ABC Fast Phonics
ABC Fast Phonics presents only
the basics of phonics, including rules for vowels, consonants, and blends along
with practice pages. Young children and other beginning readers of all ages can
navigate the site just by using the hand buttons, although we recommend teacher
or parent help to learn the shortcut menus at the top of the page.
We Do Listen
The We Do Listen Foundation is a 501 © (3) Non Profit Corporation,
intends to enable children to enjoy inner peace and communicate in a more
effective way. Creates entertaining, educational books, videos, games and songs
to help young children learn how to listen, learn life important lessons and
feel good about themselves. Children who learn this skills will grow up better
informed to resolved conflicts and empowered to change the world. Storyline Online
Reading
to children has been repeatedly shown to improve their reading, writing and
communication skills, logical thinking, concentration and general academic
aptitude… as well as inspire a love of reading. The Screen Actors Guild
Foundation records well-known actors reading children’s books and makes
graphically dynamic videos so that children around the world can be read to with
just the click of a Storyline Online video book image.
Many
teachers play SAG Foundation’s Storyline Online videos for their students.
Doctors and nurses play Storyline Online videos for children in hospitals. And
parents and children around the world watch Storyline Online videos millions of
times every month.
